How we deal with the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) at Top Hydraulics

 - Updated March 22nd, 2020 -

Top Hydraulics is open and operational. We are operating with what we think is an abundance of caution. We disinfect our shipping & receiving areas, tools and workbenches frequently. We operate in a remote area, in a quiet rural setting and we practice social distancing. While chances are low that we would inadvertently be contaminating your package on our end, one could still argue that somebody might be contaminating your parcel during transit and thus cause a transmission other than person-to-person. The question is how long a virus can survive on a surface such as cardboard, plastic or metal. Current estimations are up to a few days at most and we will update this post as we learn more. If you want to rule out any possible contraction through parcels received, you may simply want to quarantine your parcel for a few days inside a garbage bag and wash your hands, the same as you would do if you were to deal with your mail at the same level of caution. A less cautious approach would likely be sufficient, but we are not experts in that field. We are using FedEx 2-Day Service on the vast majority of our domestic shipments even if you select the standard shipping option. At this time, we have no indication that domestic shipping will take any longer or face delays due to the Coronavirus precautions.
