1. (Most affordable) You send in your leaking W124 E-Class cylinders, and Top Hydraulics rebuilds them.

  • Top Hydraulics replaces & upgrades the seals in your cylinders with our superior proprietary material. Top Hydraulics' u-cup seals have a far more reliable seal and much longer service life. You get back cylinders that have been rebuilt to outlast and outperform OEM replacements.

OR

2. (Fastest) Core Exchange Option where Top Hydraulics ships parts from our inventory first ($1000 plus a $1250 deposit).

All cylinders in E-Class convertibles should be rebuilt once you notice the first leak. The original seals are about 30 years old now, which is far past their expected service life. The decay of the seals is a chemical reaction that is governed largely by temperature and exposure to water content in the hydraulic fluid. Top Hydraulics' seals are resistant to water, and they are chemically much more stable than the original seals.

In some extreme cases, P/N 1248000072 can have corrosion (rust) on the chromed shaft, inside the cylinder tube, or inside the gland. We need to treat this on a case-by-case basis, the same as deep tool-inflicted scratches on the shafts or inside the gland. If we can polish out the damage, then there will be no additional charge. If we have to replace metal parts, then we need to charge for that. For example, Top Hydraulics manufactures hardened, stainless steel replacement shafts for all W124 cylinders, and we can replace all but the 1248000072 glands.
