1. (Most affordable) You send in your leaking cylinders, and Top Hydraulics rebuilds them.
- Top Hydraulics replaces & upgrades ALL seals in your cylinders with our superior proprietary material including rod seals, gland seals, port seals, plug seals and piston seals. Top Hydraulics also manufactures and installs our own precision CNC machined front caps in these cylinders, so that the tiny OEM rod seals can be replaced with Top Hydraulics' u-cup seals for a far more reliable seal and much longer service life.

2. (Fastest) Core Exchange Option where Top Hydraulics ships parts from our inventory first ($1400 plus a $750 deposit).
- Option 2 means that you get a set of rebuilt & upgraded cylinders from Top Hydraulics' inventory first, then you ship back your original set for credit of your $750 core refund. You get a full set that has been rebuilt to outlast and outperform OEM replacements.

Model years 2003 and up have seven cylinders that actuate the soft top and its latches. All cylinders are very similar to each other, and it is hard to tell which one will fail first. The decay rate is generally a function of temperature. The biodegradable seals inside make eventual failure of all rams almost certain, unless the car gets wrecked prematurely.

2003+ Saab 9-3 First Bow Cylinder Removal Guide (PDF)
Please note that the polished shafts on these cylinders must be free of rust, or we would be forced to replace afflicted shafts for a surcharge of $100 per shaft where needed. We have never seen such damage on the front lock or tonneau cylinders, but find it somewhat frequently on the 6th bow cylinders if there has been moisture accumulating in that area for a long time.
