Right 5th/6th Bow Tension Cylinder - Saab 9-3 2003-2011

$200.00

There are two options for placing your order:

1. (Most affordable) You send in your leaking cylinder, and Top Hydraulics rebuilds it.

  • Top Hydraulics replaces & upgrades ALL seals in your cylinder with our superior proprietary material including rod seals, gland seals, port seals, plug seals and piston seals. Top Hydraulics also manufactures and installs our own precision CNC machined front caps in these cylinders, so that the tiny OEM rod seals can be replaced with Top Hydraulics' u-cup seals for a far more reliable seal and much longer service life.

OR

2. (Fastest) Core Exchange Option where Top Hydraulics ships the part from our inventory first ($230 plus a $200 deposit).

  • Option 2 means that you get a rebuilt & upgraded cylinder from Top Hydraulics' inventory first, then you ship back your original part for credit of your $200 core refund. You get a cylinder that has been rebuilt to outlast and outperform OEM replacements.

Right 5th Bow Tension Cylinder AKA Cylinder Bow #6

Saab 9-3 (93) Aero & Arc 2003-2011

See link to DIY removal instructions below.

Model years 2003 and up have seven cylinders that actuate the soft top and its latches. All cylinders are very similar to each other, and it is hard to tell which one will fail first. The decay rate is generally a function of temperature. The biodegradable seals inside make eventual failure of all rams almost certain, unless the car gets wrecked prematurely.

NOTE:  2003+ Saab 9-3 Bow Tension cylinders are prone to minor rust damage due to failed weather seals on the vehicle.  If your cylinder has rust damage, to be successfully rebuilt it will require a shaft replacement for an additional $100.

The polished cylinder shaft must be undamaged for a proper rebuild. If you send your cylinder with the sensor attached, then we will remove it for the cylinder rebuild, and re-install it before shipping the part back to you.

Please note: Our rebuild/upgrade service does not include service or replacement of the travel sensor(s).  If you do need a replacement sensor, we sell OEM sensors for $50 each.
