You send in the cylinder you need to get rebuilt, and we typically turn it around in a day. The core exchange option is slightly more expensive, plus there is a refundable core charge. In the event of mechanical damage (does not happen during normal operation) or rust (can happen under harsh condition) on the chromed cylinder shafts, there will be a $100 per cylinder surcharge on the upgrade service because Top Hydraulics will have to replace the shaft with a custom made stainless steel shaft.
Core exchange is available for W208 CLK-Class cylinders for $190 plus a $120 refundable deposit. $100 of the core deposit will be withheld if cores arrive with damaged or rusty shafts.

The W208, model years '98-'03, has four separate, round headlights, and the front of the soft top needs to be latched by hand.
For Rebuilding Your Cylinders: We gladly accept the cylinders in their locks / latches at no extra charge -- you save the extra labor and we have all the assurance that the cylinders do not accidentally get scratched upon removal from the locks. Once we receive your cylinders, the turn around time is up to two business days for rebuild service and we will ship the cylinders back to you by Priority U.S. Mail (2-3 days delivery time).
Seals used by Top Hydraulics, Inc. include Viton™ and Teflon™-hybrid seals, as well as enhanced Polyurethane material, which far exceed the OEM's requirements for rigidity, but provide at least double the service life for your convertible car top actuators, based on scientific test data.
