Hydraulic Pump - Mercedes W209 CLK-Class
There are two options for placing your order:
1. (Most affordable) You send in your malfunctioning Hydraulic Pump, and Top Hydraulics rebuilds it.
- The rebuild includes electric motor replacement or rewinding if necessary, a new high-current relay, service of hydraulic valves, and upgrade of internal seals in the pump to eliminate current or future pressure loss or internal bypass. Three years warranty.
OR
2. (Fastest) Expedited Core Exchange Option where Top Hydraulics ships parts from our inventory first
($650 plus a $300 Refundable Core Charge).
- Option 2 means that you get a rebuilt & upgraded pump from Top Hydraulics' inventory first, then you ship back your original part for credit of your $300 core refund. Top Hydraulics ships the pump filled with fluid for plug-and-play installation. You get a pump that has been rebuilt to outlast and outperform OEM replacements.
- Please note that there is a $200 surcharge for the fairly rare pump version with power trunk option.
No sales tax for orders in the USA

Mercedes P/N: A2098000148, A2098000248, A2098000548, A2098000648
Part numbers printed on the pumps are typically A2098000130, A2098000230, A2098000330 or A2098000630, which are not actual Mercedes part numbers.
Please note that there is a $200 surcharge for the fairly rare pump version with power trunk option (part number A2098000130/A2098000648), which was optional equipment on model years 2007-2009.
Rebuild/upgrade includes:
- Two new relays
- Service of electric motor and solenoids
- Upgrade of internal components in motor's electronics
- Replacement of electric motor if needed
- Upgrade of pump seals
- Thorough check of pump pistons (and replacement if necessary)
- Service and upgrade of internal valves
- Extensive final testing for output pressure, output flow, valve function, thermal behaviour, etc.
There may be a surcharge if the pump has been abused, or in a fire, or in water.
Pump part numbers for reference, depending on W209 model:
209-800-01-48 aka A 209 800 01 48
209-800-02-48 aka A 209 800 02 48
209-800-05-48 aka A 209 800 05 48
209-800-06-48 aka A 209 800 06 48
Part numbers displayed on the pump's sticker:
2098000030 or A 209 800 00 30
2098000330 or A 209 800 03 30
2098000130 or A 209 800 01 30
2098000530 or A 209 800 05 30
2098000630 or A 209 800 06 30
For motor replacement, Top Hydraulics rewinds original CLK pump electric motors with heavier gauge copper wire and more wire loops, which results in less current drawn for the same output power and much less heat developed. In practical terms, this means the following:
1) You can cycle the top continuously for more cycles before the motor overheats,
2) the temperature sensor inside the pump has more time to signal overheating to the soft top controller, and
3) less current drawn by the motor makes a future relay failure less likely (of course, we install new high-current relays on each pump rebuild that we ship back).
You can save on shipping cost if you send us your pump without the sheet metal mounting frame.

Hydraulic pump for 2004 CLK500 Mercedes
I was first exposed to Top Hydraulics by a YouTube video with Klaus presenting how to remove and how to troubleshoot the CLK 500 convertible top when it doesn’t work. It was a great inspiring YouTube video. I followed this with removing my pump sending it to Top Hydraulics, and within three days had it returned put it in according to the YouTube video and it worked perfect. Couldn’t be more satisfied with every step of the way.
