These early model cylinders cannot be rebuilt - they can only be rebuilt if they look as pictured on our website (with aluminum or black plastic release knob on the bottom p/n 2098001272). Mercedes has replaced p/n 2098001072 with p/n 2098001272.

For core exchange: You pay $250 plus $160 deposit, standard shipping method is FedEx 2-Day Service. You can choose FedEx Priority Overnight shipping for $45.
Seals used by Top Hydraulics, Inc. include Viton™ and Teflon™-hybrid seals, as well as enhanced Polyurethane material, which far exceed the OEM's requirements for rigidity, but provide at least double the service life for your convertible car top actuators, based on scientific test data.

Comes with o-ring, snap ring, and snap ring installation tool for installation on the pump end.
There is no o-ring required for installation on the cylinder end, and you can re-use the original hydraulic line clip.

Beware: sometimes, people will put vise grips on the cylinder shaft in order to keep the trunk lid open. If we find scratches on the shaft that cannot be massaged out, then we are forced to replace that shaft with a new one for a $100 surcharge.
All internal seals get upgraded, guaranteed much better than a brand new part.
